I am not only pale; I have sensitive eyes which I passed on to my kids. I have translucent skin and pale blue eyes. If the sun is too bright I feel like my head will explode. Yeah, it’s pretty fantastic. The nice thing is we have come a long way at protecting our skin AND eyes. I still remember a time when my mom slathered on baby oil and sat baking in the sun like a Thanksgiving turkey. What were we thinking? I imagine in the next ten years we will be laughing at how we played out in the sun without any eye protection, too. It is, after all, extremely important to protect your corneas. Companies like Real Kid Shades have done an excellent job at making sure kids as young age, well zero, have eye protection with their awesome foam padding wrap style design. The glasses themselves offer both UVA and UVB protection up to 400 nanometers (impressive). Plus, they are just huge. They are nicely adjustable, come with a cleaning cloth and are water¸ shatter and rust proof. That sounds about perfect for my kids. We protect our kids in many ways, but sometimes we do not think of things like the importance of their eyes.
