My second grade teacher was a sticker reward pusher and we kids were addicts. You would have thought she was giving us gold. We each had our own bookmarks that had enough sticker spaces for the school year and it was a badge of honor to get the most stickers you could. It was such a coveted item; it is one of the few things that we kept in my school book that year as a keepsake! I thought my sticker obsession (which finally went away around middle school) would be left behind forever but alas, sticker rewards work quite well with my sticker-obsessed daughter, Brooke. I’m not quite sure what it is that makes kids tick, but getting a sticker or even a *gasp* whole page of stickers is how I imagine it is to watch me when I get to eat a yummy piece of chocolate.
