Austin Grocery Delivery Service

Picture this for a minute.  A 23-year old Momma’s Bacon is temporarily living by herself in downtown Cincinnati without family for miles around shivering and sniffling to death from a violent cold/flu.  She can barely make it to the phone to call work to tell them she needed to take sick leave.  As a low graded worker at the time, her shelves are empty of medicine and food.  As she sits dying (ok, slightly dramatic here) she suddenly remembers there is a delivery grocery service nearby and fumbles through the *gasp* phone book (nope, no Smart Phone yet).  I’m not sure what I ordered, but it put me to sleep and when I came to I had soup to eat.  It was a miserable experience, but I realized the importance of a delivery service that can bring you modern staples you desperately need when you can’t get out of the house.  Fast forward to now, our family lives in Austin and I have yet to find a great grocery delivery service for our needs just like that.  Having two little ones who can sometimes be on the *cough* temperamental side, it is sometimes easier to order than make a trek to the grocery store when only one adult is home.

Burpy.com is the answer to your basic grocery needs in the much-needed delivery service that has been lacking around Austin.  Started in Austin and now available in Houston, Burpy has made its way to the un-tapped market that is the good ol’ previously named Waterloo.  I, for one, am cheering on this endeavor since I had no idea how much I would miss it since moving south.  Burpy.com is currently broken down into six categories; Beverages, Groceries, Snacks & Candy, Health and Beauty and Household Elements.  The only thing I see seriously lacking at this time is for baby products like diapers, wipes and formula.  I understand the Guadalupe address makes it a prime target for students, but if Burpy’s continues to grow there is a much needed demographic for parents like myself for need last minute items that may not be able to rush out to retrieve on a moments notice.  Am I still excited?  HECK YES!  Do I think Burpy.com will continue to grow in products and services if Austin embraces this new endeavor?  Of course!  Why not try it out?  I find it much more convenient than an HEB stop at Rundburg and Lamar although the armed guards might miss me.  Sorry, guys!

Not too shabby considering I never have to leave my house!  Believe me, those energy drinks come in handy for both college students and those like my family with a new baby!  Plus, the delivery was quick, the driver was courteous and the online experience was simple.  Burpy.com offers a unique experience by sending an e-mail immediately after purchase with the driver’s information and picture.  I thought that was a nice personal touch.  This is definitely a service I plan to use again, especially when I am on my death bed and need some NyQuil!
