Scholastic Storybook Treasures: Children Make Terrible Pets DVD (Geared for Ages 2-6)
…..And Other Stories About Family!
The Scholastic Storybook Treasures series is geared towards toddlers and preschoolers who are starting to learn to read. Scholastic Storybook Treasures take favorite Scholastic books throughout the last few years and your child gets to see the illustrations and words on the bottom of the screen while watching as a Read-Along. This DVD collection is the latest release (August 27, 2013) that has an emphasis on family that was put together to include stories to help foster creativity and learning in kids. Peter Brown’s book is featured and is quite a hilarious book aout a bear named Lucy who brings a boy home to her family to keep as a pet. Lucy’s mother is insistent that children make terrible pets! The other three books featured add to the delightful collection. I was especially excited to see that Liz Garton Scanlon’s book ‘All the World’ was being featured, not only because we love and own it, but because she is an Austinite and one of my Facebook friends! Yes, I’m that lucky!
DVD includes the books:
- Children Make Terrible Pets
- All the World
- Crow Call
- Elizabeti’s Doll
Bonus! This collection also has DVD Features that includes a Read-Along Function (which we love) and interviews with Peter Brown and Lois Lowry and Illustrator Marla Frazee. Do not miss it!
