Celebrate International ‘Talk Like a Pirate Day’ on September 19!
As I wrote in my blog post last year, our family celebrates International ‘Talk Like a Pirate Day’. This year it falls on this Thursday, September 19 and you can bet the swashbucklers that make up this Momma’s Bacon family will be celebrating in ye olde style. Sleeping Bear Press came out with this awesome pirate book that mixes in our favorites; pirates searching for treasure, learning to read and discovering that the real booty is in books. You mean there are more letters than ‘X’ marks the spot? Yes, Pirate Pete! Seabreezy Library and Library Lou teaching a pirate how to read is more hilarious than the term ‘poop deck’ to Brooke.
