Remarkable Children’s Books, Handpicked by Actual Parents

I am a huge fan of book groups and clubs and I know a lot of parents struggle with what books to get their children.  I have a tendency to get them all through various sources including our local library which is why I think our family is so good at reviewing our favorite books for others.  I am excited to tell you about a cool book website that offers a range of ways to get your books including a monthly subscription called Zoobean.

Here are three ways in which Zoobean offers their services:

1. A subscription service (for your own children or to give as a gif) that delivers monthly hand-picked and beloved books by other parents.

2. A broader Love Collection of books selected by Zoobean parent-curators that are sent directly and include free shipping with subscriptions.  Check out more on this option here. 3. Pick out a book that is offered through their extensive online catalog of books available on their website that you can easily sort.  Books lists are put together by Zoobean users and parents.  Check out tag listings such as “children of military personnel” or “not so pink girls,” in addition to being able to filter by a character’s family or background.

So which two books did we review?  Well, two REALLY great ones recommended to us by Zoobean. 

The first, I was able to pick out for my daughter based just on her favorites and that is how we found the book, I’m Bored. Now, I totally got excited because not only did she LOVE this book, it also happens to be written by one of my favorite comics, Michael Ian Black (did I ever tell you I met him?  And, yes, I have picture proof!  Oh happy day).  It’s funny, quirky and right up Brooke’s alley.  We all enjoy it as a family.

The second book we picked through the Love Collection and after doing a few different searches came up with the book, Ish.  This is a thoughtful book on artwork where things can look however you want them and how art is subjective.  Yes, that looks tree-ish to me, too!  It definitely captures our families funky artsy personality and it was a great read for us.  Somehow Zoobean hit the nail on our family’s head with its recommendations and I bet it can do the same for your family!  Take the guess work out of finding appropriate books for your kids and check out their subscriptions and searches to see what you come up with for you and your family!  I think you will be pleasantly surprised!
