Teaching a preschooler healthy habits are more like teaching a parent a lesson in patience. Preschoolers need to be reminded why it is important to wash hands and brush teeth when it is way more fun playing. How do you explain to a little one that taking a nap or going to bed on time will make them feel better? Well, lucky for me the Barker Creek Company has a great chart set to put reminders up around the house (or school setting) to gently remind young children to take their healthy habits seriously. Two of the charts include “I’m Making Healthy Choices” Poems to help children understand that we are not just forcing them to do things to take away from their fun times, we really honestly care about their health and well-being and want them to take a vested interest in creating a healthy lifestyle now so it won’t be difficult to reverse any issues in the future.
The Healthy Habits Chart Set includes twelve 11″ x 11″ Charts; ten that showcase healthy habits and two that feature the Healthy Habit Poems. The ten charts illustrate many important healthy habit reminders like eating healthy food, exercising, brushing our teeth; washing our hands and getting lots of rest.
