Product Review: Ingenio Slide and Discover French (Age 3+)

It is no secret that I love language products for kids and the second language of the day in our household is French. I like interactive ways to learn foreign languages and I found the Slide and Discover French product by Ingenio in my research and thought it was a cool and innovative way to learn over 170 basic vocabulary words in English and French. It was designed to use the primary language of the child (in this case, English) to help them with a secondary language and I really love the photos to help the child identify things and build on words. This is not a battery-operated product; it’s a product where you can slide the tool to see pair words from English to French. It’s very colorful, with five sliding buttons and has basic themes like numbers, colors and animals. The cards included are double-sided (17 total) and include a pronunciation guide (thank you!). It is a great travel product, too, because it has a storage compartment in the back and a handle for portability. If you have a child, like mine, who is very quick with language, it is an awesome product. I could also see it being used to help a child absorb language through visuals and learning words with their parents. Either way, we really like it.
