I will never forget how excited Brooke was the first time we took her to the children’s museum and she got to play with their own version of magnetic fractiles. What are fractiles? They are magnetic shapes that stick to a steel activity board to build works of art. It is built around the popular education philosophy of STEM. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics and toys that combine all of these elements are supposed to help children learn and teach themselves independently. There have been many studies done on the topic with promising results and the Travel Edition helps to foster that creativity and innovation in a travel sized compartment. Perhaps during your holiday travel you can bring the Fractiles instead of the portable DVD. The Travel Edition of Fractiles has 96 magnetic tiles in various shapes and comes with an 8″ by 8″ black textured steel activity board. The set includes an illustrated instructional manual if your child likes a little guidance, but this is definitely a game for children who like to think outside the box. The packaging looks like a vinyl record album that makes it very easy for kids to store their board and tiles while on the go. What a hit!
