Fair Trade Instruments, Inspiration to Play

I love this musical instrument and concept by Jamtown.  Jamtown is not a place you can find on a map, it is a place where you can play music on instruments from around the world with kids and friends.   Adorable!  The Sun Moon Star Drum set from Peru is an award-winning activity drum for up to two players and can be enjoyed by children and families together.  Players are able to create different drum rhythms and melodies through a variety of combinations to warm up.  When you are ready to really jam, the set includes information on how to play ‘Homer and Roamer’ which is an original Jamtown activity for this set.  Brooke is already a total pro and even knows to put away her special drum sticks on the side thread ‘pockets’ especially designed for drum stick safe-keeping when done jamming.

Sun Moon Star Drum by Jamtown World Music is a three piece drum set for children to learn about creating and jamming to different rhythms in a fun and unique way.  Each drum is a different size and marked with a different celestial picture (sun, moon and a star) to help guide the player.  Jamtown also does special Rhythm Events for groups to learn and create a fun musical experience that is also meaningful.  Pricing varies on group activities, so you must contact Jamtown directly through e-mail for a price quote.  Check out all of their different rhythm instruments for sale through their products page including shakers, bells and scrapers!  As a third generation musical family, I am excited to be able to incorporate music into my daughter’s life and this was a really fun and unique way to bring her into our musical fold.  Be sure to check out all of their really fantastic musical instrument collection around the world.  I know I am eying a certain shaker from Vietnam!
