Product Review: More About Me: Another Keepsake Journal [Paperback] (Age 8+)
Another Keepsake Journal for Kids
Since my child is not a writer just yet, we are using this book in a different way for now. We are encouraging her to talk and give us answers to the great topics this book covers. It’s hilarious the kinds of answers you get from your child and I am constantly surprised at what she says. Recently, my dad asked my daughter what her favorite color was and, to my surprise, she immediately said, ‘yellow’. That’s when I realized I needed to start documenting and actively seeking out her ideas and opinions on things. I had no clue she liked the color yellow so much, but it made sense. She loves Winnie the Pooh and she has a ‘crush’ on the Man with the Yellow Hat, so why not yellow? I love keepsake journals and while we are using this one as a fill-in on our daughter’s behalf, it is really a great way to encourage kids age eight and older to start the quest of writing and putting down their thoughts to paper. Wonderful idea!
More About Me: Another Keepsake Journal is a great keepsake ‘thought-starter’ book for kids who want to start a journal. It’s a fun way to document your child’s life and learn new things about what they are thinking. There are even some questions for your kids to ask you! How fun. Each child is unique and it is fun to see what makes your child so special. I can never learn too much about Brooke and hope that our relationship will continue to get stronger as she gets older. At least, that is my dearest hope. Love you, Brooke, my special child!
Some sample questions from the journal:
- Name 10 things that you love
- Why is your Grandparent Special?
- What three things would you change about yourself?
