If you know that jump rope song you may be around my age and did jump roping at recess. I was (and still am) uncoordinated and never could figure out double dutch. Heck, I couldn’t even jump into the two ropes going simultaneously even once. Believe me, I tried! But I liked when it was just a single rope going or when I could skip rope by myself. Brooke has figured out jumping and, I thought, hey why not get a jump rope and see how that works out for her!
I always look for eco-friendly companies first and was happy to find that Green Toys (I did a review on their Tool Box Set a few months ago) also make jump ropes! Score! This jump rope really is an ‘eco’-rope and is made out of 100 percent recycled plastic handles and US-made 100 percent cotton rope. The handles are available in pink, purple or green. The rope itself it 7 feet long, but it can be adjusted (double score for us). While Brooke still needs some work on her jumping rope skills, she at least knows what she is supposed to do and is no quitter. Whether or not her legs make it to the other side of the rope is still questionable half the time, but we are making progress, my friends! So fun! This is also perfect for any of those ‘get active’ New Years Resolutions I know we all want to make in 2013, so gear up! Plus, as Green Toys says, ‘Little jumpers can burn energy and save energy at the same time!’ Nice.
