Families Dynamic Choices in Children’s Literature through Music and Original Stories

I would listen diligently at the old radio programs my grandparents had on cassette when I was a child from back when they were kids just listening to the shows from their radios.  Shows like ‘Fibber McGee and Molly’ or ‘The Shadow’ are probably programming unheard of from my generation who would rather watch live action shows on the television.  In the spirit of Christmas and family tradition from our grandparent’s generation, I thought the Second Chance Christmas CD that includes the story with a symphonic story was a nice way to incorporate the holiday traditions to a new generation.

The Second Chance Christmas: A Symphonic Story CD tells a poetic tale through beautiful symphonic music about the struggles of a town to celebrate the holidays after a mining catastrophe struck the town decades earlier and the mayor did not want one note of music played in their town – ever!  A band of musicians are stuck in the village of Second Chance during a terrible snow storm when they begin to play one mesmerizing orchestral arrangement after another at the delight of the villagers and the fury of the mayor.  You will love the ending and your family can following along in the included booklet which also includes all of the music and lyrics from the CD.  It really is a lovely way to spend quality family time without the glow of television.  Happy Holidays!
