Product Review:  Douglas Fir and Star Anise Lip Balm (All Ages)

Delicious Lip Balms.  Resist the Urge to Eat It!

I am never without lip balm.  I almost never wear lipstick because it dries out my lips and I LOVE finding great smelling balms that use botanicals and organic essential oils to keep my lips moist.  What’s even better about Wild Carrot Herbals Lip Balms is that they are safe enough for children to use and come in some great holiday season flavors – uh, I mean, SMELLS, yes!  At three dollars each, I felt that splurging on a Douglas Fir and Star Anise lip balm was totally worth it.  I mean, I’d never had those lip balm smells before, have you?  I totally love them and so does Ms. Brooke (oh, and my mom did, too, and staked claim to the Star Anise balm!).  I certainly wouldn’t give Brooke her own tube to use whenever she wants just yet (she does try!), but she handles it well when we let her try and I always put a healthy dose on her lips when I re-apply.

Wild Carrot Herbals lip balms are made with organic coconut oil, natural beeswax, fair trade raw Shea butter and farm-crafted infused oils and organic essential oils.  In fact, there is nothing in the lip balms that isn’t a food ingredient, so unless you have a child with food allergies (check the website link below for the full list of ingredients) you can feel comfortable knowing that your child can actually lick the lip balm or actually even eat it, although that is not recommended!  The company just came out with new packaging that is 100 percent recycled plastic tubes.  One fair warning is that Wild Carrot Herbals lip balm does not contain any synthetic or mineral SPF to their balms for sun protection.  These are delicious and nutritious lip balms perfect for the holiday season or as stocking stuffers.  For mommas out there, be sure to check out the marionberry lip balm that has red mica powder added to it so it has a soft pink kiss of color to the lips.  Smack!

About Wild Carrot Herbals:  This Rickreall, Oregon Company was started by the husband and wife team of Jody and Michael Berry.  Both organic farmers, they chose the name Wild Carrot Herbals from the Queen Anne’s lace (aka Daucus carota) a wild and abundant weed throughout Northwest US. Besides the castile soap bars, all products are produced by Wild Carrot Herbals.  The Berry’s own a three acre farm and say they are assisted by the three year old daughter Ginger Berry (how cute!), 2 old dogs, one wild young dog and 46 chickens.  Whew!
