I had a very interesting Philosophy teacher when I was in high school and he would always leave me scratching my head in what life really meant.  How do we know things exist?  Are we the creators of our own worlds?  Harold has an imagination and he is ready to create with it an entire Harold world through a purple crayon.

Harold And The Purple Crayon has been in print for well over 50 (actually 57 now…) years and it is very easy to see why.  Harold takes you on adventures with a combination of his crayon and his ideas.  Draw a box around a circle and you are inside your house looking out at the moon.  The worlds Harold creates are adult-free and full of lots of adventure.  This is a delightful book for grandparents, parents and children alike who probably all grew up reading this book.  Brooke gives this book two thumbs up!
