Product Review: Thanksgiving Felt Set (20+ Felt Figures, Flannelboard & Case) (Age 2+)
Educational Felt Board Stories
Who loves felt boards? We do! We do! Before I had Brooke I had no clue about flannelboards and felt sets and telling stories and song through little figures. However, it did not take me long to realize what a great way to teach children stories and rhymes and learning letters and numbers through a nice visual aid. It is also super cheap to buy and create (if you are the crafty type – which I am not) and you can easily switch out new felt sets so they get a ton of use. They are also portable, which is perfect for road trips and long waiting times when your child can’t sit still. I was really happy to find this adorable Thanksgiving Felt set through Betty Lukens and I am very happy with the quality.
The Thanksgiving Set includes over 20 felt figures, a flannelboard and a case to recreate the first Thanksgiving. The felt pieces are pre-cut (yes!) and the board is a nice large size of 13″ x 15″. For those parents who like to get animated when doing story-time, you can really get into bringing the first Thanksgiving between the Native Americans and the Pilgrims to life and have your children join in on learning about the first Thanksgiving meal as part of family time fun. The felt manipulatives are wonderful for developing hand-eye coordination and visual learning. Plus I just love how creative you can be with your own reenactment storytelling (we never tell the same story twice). Highly recommended!
