If you want to Meet the Quirkles, you better work on your handshakes because you have 26 Quirkles to meet! Why the magic number 26? Yes, you are right! It has to do with phonics! But not just phonics, this is learning phonics with the help of science. Yes, you heard me! I am always amazed at products I find and this is one of the coolest book series on the alphabet I have reviewed to date. Since it might cost a small fortune (and several weeks) to go through every book, I picked one of my favorite names to read to Brooke from this series to see if it was Momma’s Bacon worthy. I am happy to report that we loved Pressure Pete!
Pressure Pete is a Quirkle from the galaxy, Quirk, who likes to study air pressure. Shaped like the letter ‘P” (as all the Quirkles look like their corresponding alphabet letter), Pressure Pete has a barometer for a nose and has a perky personality. Pressure Pete’s adventure begins at a Pizza Party lunch with Patsy Pig who is upset about not being invited to Paul’s Party. It was the Pesky air Pressure that caused Patsy to lose her Patience with her drink at Paul’s last Party and she Pushed her drink until it fell on Paul Porcupine’s white Pants. How upsetting! Pressure Pete explained why Patsy had such an issue with air Pressure when her straw had a hole in it. The friends go and speak to Paul and explain Patsy’s issue with air Pressure and soon she gets invited to the Party. And guess what? It was a Perfect Day with just the right amount of air Pressure!
That’s not All! Each Quirkle Book has some science activities at the back of each book to complete for each character. As always, Safety First!
