Celebrating 27 years as Santa’s very first Children’s Elves
Christopher Pop-In-Kins made his debut to the world 27 years ago, but he had been a fixture in the Flora Johnson household since her children were young in the 1960s. She told them stories of Christopher the elf whom Santa would send out into the world in November to visit boys and girls and share in the excitement of the holiday season. He was a fun-loving elf who loved to play and would report back to Santa on Christmas Eve to talk about all the Children in the World. This story may have stopped with Flora until one day her grandchild called her so excited to say that an elf had just ‘popped in’ for the holidays. That is when Flora knew she had to introduce her tradition to other families around the world. She made her first doll at her kitchen table and now in recognition of its 27th year as a Christmas fixture, Dr. Toy named it the best classic Toy in 2011. In 2010, Christina Pop-In-Kins, Christopher’s sister has been added to the catalog and you can now purchase fun kits for the holidays for either elf.
