I am not a stranger to music festivals having gone to my first concert at the massive Polaris Amphitheatre in Columbus to see the all-mighty Pink Floyd’s (sans Roger Waters) Division Bell tour at age fourteen. My love of festivals never stopped. Back then I took a watch, a wallet and lip gloss. I quickly traded the watch for binoculars, spent the little cash I had on a cool Sun Pink Floyd shirt and lost the gloss by the end of the night; but I didn’t care. I was at a huge concert, darn it! No one cares at that age if the toilet paper roll is almost empty, if there are germs on the seats and smelling minty fresh in that stinky crowd. Yeah right! However, I’m a parent now. A parent who plans to take her child to her first festival before she turns five and I need an essentials kit. Heck, I didn’t even know they MADE paper soap, but how awesome is that? Mini wipes are now a must in my life, I have to keep lip balm on hand for my child and seat covers for the toilet ARE essential. I was a little hesitant about the need for an air fresher until Bob brought up the good point of an ‘accident’ on the road trip. Duh! Yes, what a good idea. So for all you festival lovin’ families who don’t let parenthood stop you, this may be just the ticket for your next adventure. I am SO THERE!
