The Story of a Scottish Terrier and his Shiny Red Ball
Scout is a Scottish Terrier that lives in an apartment building (penthouse, of course!) that loves his bouncy red ball. It is his favorite toy and he is not happy when it comes up missing. Where did it go and how can he find it? Scout begins to look for his favorite toy from floor to floor of his apartment building and recruits animal friends on the way who want to help him find his ball. Will he ever find it? Scout’s illustrations make this a beautiful pop art lover’s dream. The colors are amazing and bright and the story is simple and sweet for young kids who know what it is like when they lose their favorite toy. It is also adorable about how Scout finds some new friends on his journey although in the end his red ball is still his prized possession that he is not willing to lose to anyone. Oh, on a related note, Brooke loves the ‘Squeaky Mouse’ the best and even thinks he is the best character, which is really funny if you read the story! She even insists her toy Ikea mouse is the ‘Squeaky Mouse’ (squeak, squeak) and has it play with a red ball for his own ‘cheese ball’. Hilarious.
