I think our family is doing a pretty decent job at going ‘bagless’ but with one exception; produce bags. We (or, I should say, Bob) shops with reusable bags for groceries and we are using reusable bags for snacks and sandwiches for food on the go. However, I always noticed that even at the ‘crunchiest’ of grocery stores around Austin still have the plastic produce sacks. I probably should have known that reusable produce bags existed, but I never tried looking for them until now. After a lot of searching, I decided to give the ECOBAGS Produce Set of 3 a try since it comes in three sizes to see how they would work out for my family.
The ECOBAGS Produce Bag Set of 3 are reusable natural cotton produce bags that come in three sizes; small, medium and large. Here are the measurements to give you an idea: Small: 8″W x 10″H; Medium: 11″W a 13.25″H and Large: 13.5″W x 17″H. The bags are extremely lightweight and barely register on the produce scales. Don’t believe me? The company provides the tare weight for each sized bag (Small: 0.25 oz.; Medium: 0.45 oz. and Large: 0.60 oz.). The nice thing is that these bags are machine washable (on cold only) although they have to be hung dry. I think that is a small price to pay to stop accumulating those plastic produce bags after each purchase. Why not give it a try?
