Product Review: Science Fair CD (All Ages)
Indie Music for Indie Kids
Close your eyes. Imagine a compilation CD that has eighteen tracks themed around and benefiting science education (off the sale of every CD) for girls. Imagine you could buy that CD now. Now open your eyes! Ta-dah! It’s not just in your imagination; the Science Fair CD is 100 percent real. Spare the Rock records came out with an awesome (let me repeat, AWESOME) CD about science promotion aimed at girls. Sigh. The cool thing is, I have done past children’s CD reviews about some of the artists on the album, so I pretty much figured I was going to like it before I even heard it. It is inspiring. It is historical. It is educational. It is AWESOME. Yes, I said awesome again. Sorry, my synonym button is broken. I’m just excited! If you can get great tunes with a good message about education in the sciences for girls into one album and still make it rock, then I am humbled, dear record company. It is possible. While all the songs are fun, listen to (I Wanna Be Like) Madam Curie and To Be a Fossil for our family favorites of the album. Indie geeks with young daughters (and, really, boys can listen, too!) everywhere rejoice!
