The great thing about living in Austin, TX is the weather. The bad thing about living in Austin, TX is the weather. Huh? A part of me feels like I have no right to complain after growing up in Ohio. I don’t miss the snow. I don’t miss the ice. I don’t miss….the 100+ degree weather?!? Nope, that’s special for us Texans. Every year starting around June it is like a race to see how fast we can get to 100 plus. Brooke was a summer baby and it was miserable being pregnant in the heat. On top of that, I have very fair skin (hmmm….translucent, if you will) and so does my daughter. I have always been very vigilant about being SPF protected throughout the year with fair skin, but it is really important that everyone is protected from both UVA and UVB rays (SPF 15 or higher daily as recommended by the Skin Cancer foundation) no matter what your skin tone and even more important for children to have protected skin. Coola does organic sun care and has an awesome moisturizer for babies six months and older and for us extra sensitive adults out there. Oh yeah!
The Baby SPF 50 Unscented Moisturizer is designed for babies, with their delicate skin, six months and older (and those of us who have sensitive skin) to protect against the sun’s rays and pollutants. This is a 100 percent natural product (no chemicals or preservatives) with mineral SPF 50 UVA/UVB protection with plankton and organic beeswax. I also love that this moisturizer is ultra water resistant, with around 80 minutes of sun protection while in the water (always remember to reapply while you are swimming in the sun)! The moisturizer smells delicious and very soothing on the skin. It also includes Shea Butter, sesame seed, avocado and evening primrose oils that keep the skin so soft. Just remember that even though we are going into cooler weather (and for those not in TX, COLD weather), the sun is always out in the daytime and you need to stay protected!
