I am such a sucker for ear flap hats for the winter, especially for little children. Granted, it’s not necessary for most of the year here in Austin, but growing up in Ohio you could start busting out the hats and cold weather jackets (and – yikes- even sometimes coats!) as soon as October rolled around. Considering I grew up close to hippie dippy Athens, Ohio during my formative years, we spent many a pilgrimage to the truly awesome stores on Court Street (Artifacts, anyone?) which were like prime Etsy storefronts before the internet even really existed. Handmade crocheted hats and gloves were a must and although I have no talent in this area, I am so thankful there are people like Yacine Diop and her team of crocheting (mostly stay-at-home) parents, including dads!

And – yes – it is machine washable. Score! You can use the tassels to fasten under the chin or go ear-flap-less! Either way it is adorable. I love that you can buy this hat starting at 0-3 months up to kids 10 years of age. That is a huge range. This is an adorable and well-made hat for the cold months for your little ones and, well, I like cute, too!
