Of COURSE I celebrate Talk Like a Pirate Day! Arrggghhh! It’s a real holiday. It’s true! Look it up. It falls on September 19 every year and this year (2012) just happens to be the 10 year anniversary of Talk Like a Pirate Day! Aye, there is even a website dedicated to the day and gives you ways to use the correct pirate lingo (check it out here). What better way to celebrate than playing a pirate game called Don’t Rock the Boat!
Don’t Rock the Boat is a pretty simple concept and great for pirates and pirate-lovers alike. Basically you have a pirate ship that balances delicately on a bottom ‘wave’. Players alternate turns to balance their pirate penguins and not rock the boat. Up to four players take turns until someone rocks the boat and the pirate penguins come crashing down! The game includes a super cool pirate ship with three Masts, a two piece Water Wave to balance the boat, 16 Pirate Penguins and a rule book. As Patch Product says, “Take turns trying to balance your pirate penguins on the ship, but if you rock the boat and send some mateys overboard, ye be a landlubber!”
