Product Review: AllerMates Asthma Wristband (Made for Kids with Allergies!)
Parents and Kids Breathe Easier for Back-To-School with All-New AllerMates® Asthma Wristband
Did you know that in the United States, about 20 million people have asthma (aka chronic inflammatory disorder of the airways of the lungs) and that nearly nine million of them are children? An estimated 300 million people have asthma worldwide. Wow! I had a childhood friend with asthma so I am pretty familiar with the issues of it in kids and for a time I actually used to keep an extra inhaler of hers on hand just in case. The thought of asthma in my own child crossed my mind in the aftermath of my daughter being born premature and she had respiratory distress syndrome (RDS). She had to have a surfactant breathing treatment while in the NICU. Lucky for us, the treatment greatly cut down her use of the ventilator very quickly it was almost amazing. As a parent, it is not easy to forget the days when she struggled to breathe and when she first began running she would do this panting thing that had her dad and I wondering if she was wheezing. She has not had any follow-up issues per her doctor, but it will probably be in the back of my mind as she gets older and more active to look for any signs of breathing issues. For kids with asthma, it is nice that something like AllerMates exist to alert others of your child’s breathing issues in a cute and fashionable way. It gives both the parent and child piece of mind in knowing that if an allergy exists that others are alerted quickly if an attack happens. AllerMates ‘Puffer’ Asthma Wristband is just the latest alert bracelet for children with allergies, so if your child has anything from a peanut allergy to a dairy allergy, they can find the right wristband to wear. AllerMates also offers a multiple allergy wristband available for children who need to wear multiple allergy alerts, so check it out!
