A Joyous Testament to a Collective History of Folk – For Kids!
Holy cow was I excited when I saw the first children’s album by Laura Veirs! Inspired by the birth of her son, Laura created the most perfect album for children with a wonderful array of folk songs including work by Jimmie Rogers and Harry Belafonte. Not only is the music beautiful, but the guest artists on this album are amazing. I mean, seriously, I just have to list a few off for you: Colin Meloy (Decemberists), Jim James (My Morning Jacket), Bela Fleck and Brian Blade (drummer for Bob Dylan). Laura’s voice is also such a sweet summery sound it is hard to not get happy when listening to this album. Folk music to me is timeless and to pair this wide variety of old and new children’s songs from years past is brilliant. The CD contains a DIY mobile Digipak with a matte finish as well as a lyric foldout. Go Get a Copy! Now!
