Product Review: Keep Our Secrets – To Be Read in a Whisper {Hardcover} (Age 3+)
A book printed with heat-sensitive, disappearing ink!
Back ‘in the day’ all the kids in my neighborhood thought they were so cool when they figured out a new language of ‘Pig Latin’. I don’t think it ever occurred to us that the ‘code’ had been cracked long ago and if you really want to keep secrets, you just keep quiet. Or you put them in heat-sensitive disappearing ink like in this super sweet book for kids age 3 and up called Keep Our Secrets!
Keep Our Secrets is such a fun novelty board book for kids with a spy twist that will have the adults just as enamored. This is such a fun idea to keep kids interested in books in this digital age and the thermo-reactive quality of this book reveals hidden images to the reader with just the touch of a finger! Super cool! Although the rubbing does take some effort (the sticker on the front of the book advises that you get best results if you use a hair dryer with ADULT SUPERVISION, of course), the interesting and beautiful results are worth the old-fashioned effort. The contents are imaginative and fantastic, almost magical secrets young children would whisper about at a sleep over. Have you ever seen the rib cage of a canary or heard of a tree that could really bleed if you cut it? The author gives awesome advice to read to your children in a whisper (shhhhh!) when you read aloud so that you really give the added effect that we are all getting in on these ‘secrets’ together. Shhhh! It’s our little secret now, my dear readers!
