It can be difficult to talk to a very young child about the idea of ‘wellness’ and that it is a promotion of the healthy self-focus on a person’s mind, body and spirit. It is difficult to teach and reinforce these ideas in a world that the United States currently resides where time is money and money rules all. It is hard to slow down and approach life in a healthy holistic way, yet it is one of the most important things that a parent can do for a child; teach them about their own personal well being and to take care of themselves.
The Little Lotus Learns About Wellness is an award-winning book that teaches young children about wellness. A little lotus asks Mother Lotus about what wellness means and wants to learn more. Luckily for Little Lotus, Mother is wonderful about breaking down the basics to her child about what it means to be healthy and staying well. Mother Lotus not only talks about the importance of physical health, she also talks about the importance of mental and spiritual health. This book is very simple to read but also thought provoking. It has nice easy-on-the-eyes simple illustrations. It’s a beautiful book with a wonderful message to help the body from head to toe.
