Product Review: Discovery Kids 3D readers Wonders of the World (Hardcover)
A 3D Book That Brings Learning to Life
I was one of the kids who were duped by the promising X-Ray Spec advertisements on the back pages of comic books that purported that the user could “see” through objects while wearing the glasses. However, the real interesting part I learned about the scam of X-Ray Specs was discovering the three-dimensional illustrations it created that made objects appear to leap off the page of a book. As the idea of 3D images has come back into vogue, it was only a matter of time that a whole new line of books would take the 3D concept to a new level. Discovery Kids has an entire line of 3D readers for kids through Parragon Books and I was particularly interested in their book about the Wonders of the World – 3D Style!
Discovery Kids 3D readers Wonders of the World is an exciting read from the 3D Discovery Readers series that combine educational facts, excellent artwork and fun stickers (yes, 3D stickers!) while incorporating 3D cover-mounted glasses to have the pictures leap off the page. The book covers and explores ten wonders of the world around the globe including places like the Great Wall of China and Stonehenge. This is a fun activity set as well as an interesting reference for children to learn more about the amazing places to discover around the globe in the unique design of 3D. Do you know how many soldiers could march side by side on the Great Wall of China? You will have to read to find out!
