One of my daughter’s first food words she said very clearly was the word quesadilla. Both Bob and I had a good laugh at that one. We eat a lot of Mexican (or more like Tex-Mex) food here in Austin and it really is no wonder that Brooke likes her Mexican food ‘hot and spicy’ to boot! Since we both like to cook and now have started incorporating Brooke into our family cooking time, I got really interested in the Handstand Kids different country themed cookbook kits. The Handstand Kids are a diverse group of children who travel the world and learn about the food cultures around the globe one recipe at a time. Of course, I was interested in their second book of the series, The Handstand Kids Mexican Cookbook.
The Handstand Kids Mexican Cookbook is a children’s cookbook that is fun for the family and translated into both English and Spanish for multi-language learning in this Mexican cookbook. This adorable kit comes in a re-sealable tortilla bag (so cute!) with a child sized oven mit with a Mexican cookbook with healthy and delicious recipes. You can make your own Farmer’s Market Chips and Salsa and Brooke’s favorite Quesadilla! The recipes are simple enough so that a child as young as three can help parents cook and the recipes are as diverse as the country’s multi regions within Mexico. One of the co-hosts of The Food Network’s Melting Pot, Chef Aaron Sanchez, wrote the introduction which I think is a great support to the authenticity of the recipes.
