Little Pim – Fun with Languages
My daughter loves Little Pim. I bought Brooke the Little Pim Spanish Intro Gift Set about a year ago after getting a great tip about the products by the daughter of Dr. Paul Pimsleur. The Spanish CD, DVD and our Pim plush quickly became a household favorite. If the name Pimsleur sounds familiar, it is because Dr. Paul created a very successful foreign language method for adults that focus on the benefits of audio teaching that daughter, Julia, built on for the younger generation. Since the success of the language set, we have since added the Little Pim French Language Bop CD to our Little Pim collection which continues to get a heavy rotation in our household with plans on adding a few more language CDs in the future. I was excited to see that the Intro Set now includes one of the newest items in the Little Pim product line; children’s language books! Of course, I was all over that!
Little Pim Feelings book through Abrams Publishing (The Art of Books Since 1949) is a supplemental book to the Little Pim language series that covers five major feelings for children (happy, scared, shy, sad, and surprised). The book is in the English language but is translated in both Spanish and French which happen to be the two most popular languages in the Little Pim series. There is a pronunciation guide for parents for both Spanish and French which is very helpful. The book has illustrations of the cute panda bear, Pim, who my daughter already loved from the Intro Gift Set and has fun flaps and pull tabs on each page to engage the child. Little Pim Feelings is a great book for toddlers who are learning about feelings while incorporating a multi-lingual aspect of French and Spanish. Perfect!
