It’s not every day I get a gift from my mother-in-law that is a stationary set of envelopes and writing pads made from poo paper. Yup, I said it, POO paper. As in feces, excrement, defecation; well, you get my drift. My mother-in-law had just returned from a birthday visit to The Wilds, which is the largest non-profit wildlife conservation center in the Unites States that just happens to be located in the Appalachian area of Muskingum County, Ohio. It’s innovative and fascinating and happens to sell fair trade Mr. Ellie Pooh’s Elephant Dung Paper in the gift shop she thought was right up my alley. Laughingly, she was right. I am interested in learning more about this Sri Lanka elephant poo paper and teaching the idea that paper can be made partially out of elephant poo! Plus, side note – All this poo talk will prepare you for the upcoming week-long potty training-esque product review special I will be doing at the end of August a la Momma’s Bacon blog! Mr. Ellie Pooh Workbook/Storybook Combo is an educational material set for children about the use of elephant dung to make paper materials. Fair Warning to my Readers! So I learned the hard way that the poo paper envelopes are not lickable/stickable (yuck! I licked poo paper for no reason!), so I busted out our fun sticker collection to seal my cards. Now if only Ellie Pooh made some sweet poo stickers, we would be set!
