Products that Enhance the Development of Skills while Offering Children Many Hours of Fun and Learning

I have a bad habit of falling down, running into things and never looking where I’m going.  Some of that is just being lost in my own world, but I also lack balance and coordination skills that haunted me in my early years of gym class.  I always felt the need to apologize to the kids who ended up on my team in sports events.  It is a wonder that I am even a decent guitar player but can’t throw a ball in a straight line to save my life.  I almost cried out of sheer delight when I noticed my daughter balancing up and down the neck of my hard-bodied guitar case (much to my husband’s horror since it is a really nice guitar case…but I digress…).  I was excited because her display of that impressive balancing skill at a young age (I mean, you know how small the guitar necks of cases are, right?) may just mean that my lack of coordination may have skipped her generation and is a huge sigh of relief!  We do continue to encourage activities that help her develop coordination and balance and have found a really great product in the fun yet simple Joey Jump product.

Joey Jump is this really simple yet brilliantly fantastic toy for children as young as two to help challenge and improve their hand-eye coordination skills.  The set includes two bean bags and a 28″ plastic launching board for your child. The Joey Jump is basically like an inclined plane that acts as a launching pad when your child ‘stomps’ on one end and the soft bean bag goes flying in the air for your child to catch.  Simple?  Well, not exactly at first.  In fact, the Joey Jump is used as a physical therapy tool to help kids achieve higher levels of balance and coordination.  If you have a determined child, like I do, their determination at catching the bean bags becomes an almost obsession and a noticeable difference in her own ability with time and practice is really thrilling to see.  Now, if it can only help me with my klutzy limitations, I may have to request Learning Advantage to help make a larger adult version a la Momma’s Bacon style!
