Happy Birthday to….Me! Did I ever tell you my daughter and I share the same birthday week? Well, we do and it has been quite fun although this week is now all about her with momma getting to do all the work! Ha! Such is the life of a parent, isn’t it? And, yes, that is completely fine by me. As an avid record keeper of sentimental keepsakes (my mother-in-law says it’s a July birthday thing), I have no talent in the area of scrap booking (I am way too messy and impatient to cut out things like perfect little hearts, so sorry!); however, the market is filled with keepsake journals for dummies and I LOVE this Birthday Book. I’ve had it for over a year and I’m sorry to say I have already filled up one of their sealed time capsule pages enough to where I will have to duct tape it shut, but this is a ‘me’ problem not the book’s problem. Yes, I keep everything, all birthday cards included. Le Sigh.
Your Birthday Book: A Keepsake Journal is a hardcover-spiral book to keep track of just birthdays for your child from age one until the age of eighteen. You are encouraged to present this birthday book to your child (*ahem* adult?) on their eighteenth birthday as a very sweet present. I love it! At the age of three, you start collecting interview questions with your child such as their favorite birthday gifts and why they picked a certain theme to add to the unique and cuteness factor. The colors and illustrations are gender neutral, so it really is perfect for a boy or girl. My only complaint is that I tend to want to keep everything and the seal-able time capsule pages are going to be tough for me. Luckily, I also have a school years and birth to preschool book, so I’m able to utilize spill over documents in other places. For the ‘normal’ non-pack rat parents, this birthday keepsake journal will fit your needs perfectly and offer an awesome graduation gift for your child after high school. How sweet is that?
