Product Review: Harvest Time Game (Geared for Ages 3-7)
“Play Together Not Against Each Other” A Co-Operative Game.
Harvest Time game is the most popular family cooperative game from Family Pastimes with the goal to harvest a garden before winter. This two-to-four person game comes with a 12 x 12″ board, a simple color-coded die, 48 vegetable cards (12 types of vegetables total) and winter and spring puzzle pieces. If the game looks familiar, it could be because it has been around since 1980! I think the reason why this game continues to be so popular for families is because it is a very thoughtful and fun game of planting vegetables that also offers some choices and decision making for young children. Kids can decide whether or not to help other players with their planting which builds on the idea that working to help others creates a successful outcome for all players. It is a simple concept yet challenging game and there are rules included to play a longer and more difficult version for older child to do springtime planting. Love it!
