Is your child going to be a big brother or sister? If so, this may be the perfect book for your family! Little Frog was quite content living in the pond with just his mom and the two of them have a nice bond. In fact, the title of the book comes from his hopeful mom asking Little Frog if he would like a baby brother or sister, to which he replies, “No. We’re just fine as we are”. However, it seems that out of nowhere, Little Frog finds a whole multitude of tadpoles swimming in his pond thinking they are his mom’s children! What is a little frog to do and how does he feel and react about being a big brother?
Fine As We Are is an adorable book from the annoyed and sometimes hilarious perspective of a young frog who now has to share his life and mom with *gasp* siblings. Little Frog talks about his baby brothers and sisters following him around, copying him and taking his stuff and time with his mother as quite an inconvenience. Then, after a particularly annoying day, Little Frog realizes he can actually teach his siblings new things and they can have a lot of fun playing games together (awww!). Perhaps being an older sibling isn’t so bad and makes his family as ‘fine as they are’. Fantastic read especially for new big brothers and sisters!
About Author Algy Craig Hall: Algy hails from London with degrees in economics, politics – oh, and an MA in children’s book illustration! Little Frog’s perspective comes from experience since Algy enjoyed his time as an only child until his parents had Quadruplets! That is quite an inspiration for his first children’s picture book. Algy lives in London with partner Emily and daughter Madeleine and works as a financial journalist for Investors Chronicle.
