Product Review:  Kidz Delight Light & Sound Phonics (Geared towards Ages 3-5)

A Portable Preschool Learning Center with Hours of Activities

I was looking for fun and educational car-ride games for Brooke that would capture her attention, especially on long trips.  Kidz Delight Light & Sound Phonics is a nice electronic portable phonics board that offers 8 separate games for learning letters, letter sounds, counting and helping children follow instructions.  Games like Find the Letter also provides ways to increase hand eye coordination.  This product has won the coveted Creative Child Magazine Top Educational Preschool Toy Award for having activities that both enlighten and challenge preschoolers and we wanted to check it out.

The Light & Sound Phonics educational toy has an easy-to-carry handle for youngsters with a 26 backlit alphabet key learning board.  This product requires 3x ‘AA’ batteries that are included with the purchased product.  The board is for pre-readers and uses visual and auditory stimuli to help teach phonics.  Each letter is written in both upper and lower case and is illustrated with a word and picture that starts with the letter.  I did read two reviews that stated this board only used long vowel sounds as examples, but our version has both long and short vowel sounds, so that was not an issue for us.  I have found this is the perfect portable learning device that holds our daughter’s attention in the car with games she enjoys now and a few games that will grow with her which we think is a winner.
