Product Review: Phases of the Moon (Patterns in Nature series) [Paperback] (Ages 4+)
Driven by Intelligence, Innovation and Insight
Our family is digging the Patterns in Nature series through Capstone Press that focuses on appropriate science content to early readers. We were really excited about the Phases of the Moon book since our family has talked in great length about the different moon phases through an earlier product I reviewed that hangs on Brooke’s wall called Uncle Milton’s Moon in My Room. Phases of the Moon goes much deeper than my explanations and it nicely introduces each moon phase, gives each phase title (crescent, quarter, gibbous, etc.) and talks about why different phases occur. The illustrations of the moon phases are very nicely done and follow the text in a clear manner for a child. I really enjoyed the phases diagram as well as the glossary at the end which was a nice touch. Other books within the Patterns in Nature series include; Day and Night, Hibernation, and Seasons of the Year. Highly recommended for your young budding scientists!
