Product Review:  Animals of the World Puzzle by Infantino (ages 3+)

Our Passion is Happy Moms, Babies and Families

I first discovered Infantino products when I purchased their Matching Colors and Textures Puzzles for the age 1+ crowd for my daughter’s 1st birthday and it was a hit.  I have been keeping tabs on their products and was very excited when I saw their Animals of the World Puzzle because it looked like a fun way for children to discover the different animals in our planet.  I decided I wanted to check it out and I am happy to report that the Animals of the World Puzzle is a great buy.

Animals of the World Puzzle by Infantino is a sturdy, colorful puzzle that features a map of the world with fun interactive animal puzzle pieces that fit vertically into the puzzle map to their corresponding ‘home’.  There are 45 puzzles pieces in total and 9 of those are the corresponding animal pieces of the Clown Fish, Penguin, Toucan, Panda, Kangaroo, Camel, Giraffe, Grey Wolf and Brown Bear.  The puzzle helps build knowledge on geography (the Kangaroo, for example, explains he lives near Ayers Rock in Australia) and vocabulary as well as reading skills.  There are additional fun facts of different animals on the puzzle and I think it gives a great basic overview of different types of animals of the world that is perfect for children as young as three.  I actually learned something I had forgotten years ago; the Rhino’s horn is made of thickly matted hair.  Nice.

About Infantino:  Infantino LLC is a San Diego based corporation that has a product line to help parents and their little ones grow together; from infant toys, carriers, toddler toys and more.  I personally love their collection of toddler puzzles.  Infantino recently partnered with their sister organization, Step 2, to create the Just BeCause program that will focus on various volunteering, donating and charities efforts as well as non-profits.  One campaign under Just BeCause is the Everybody Plays campaign, which will feature pictures of unique children everywhere by photographer/blogger, author and mom to two girls (one with Down Syndrome), Kelle Hampton.  Her pictures will be updated throughout Infantino’s website and product packaging in 2012.
