It almost seems like doing a children’s product review on a Melissa and Doug item is almost too easy. I mean, doesn’t everyone know how great Melissa and Doug products are and that they make the coolest wooden toys, inexpensive art supplies and I have found Montessori-esque activities at a discount rate just by checking their site? No? Not everyone knows this stuff? Okay, then! I guess I should talk about one of my favorite Melissa and Doug items that include brass locks, latches and clasps that are perfect to help refine hand movements and fine motor coordination while learning colors, numbers and animal names. The Melissa & Doug Deluxe Latches Board is definitely a winning product in my book!
Melissa & Doug Deluxe Latches Board is an awesome cost effective alternative to the Montessori Locks and Latches Sets I was trying to replicate. The Montessori Locks and Latches Sets I found were up in the hundred dollar (and up!) range, which was not going to happen for me. I have gotten a little savvy on what companies I go to for awesome versions of practical skill toys and Melissa & Doug just happens to be one of them and they did not disappoint with this set. I was not only impressed that the locks and latches worked effectively, but the fact that they added additional color, number and animal recognition skills to an already practical board made this an awesome buy. I also happened to buy my set during an Amazon Gold Box Deal, so keep on the lookout for those discounts! I seem to find some really great Melissa & Doug finds that way!
