Bob and I are those kinds of parents. You know the parents that insist on buying all organic, whole foods and products for our daughter. We are not made of money, quite the contrary, but it is so important to us that there are weeks I only eat bananas and peanut butter sandwiches at work so she can try and live as pesticide and chemical free as possible. I am not completely unrealistic, I do know the world we live in today makes it a near impossible mission to keep Brooke safe from all man-made chemicals but I still think it is a worthy endeavor and we don’t plan to stop trying. When Bob and I began looking for art projects like fingerpainting for Brooke as a baby we knew we found a friend in the all natural, plant-based organic art products that Wee Can Too Art offered.
Our family has been consumers of Wee Can Too Art products since Brooke was 6 months old and did her first finger paint project. Their products are all certified organic food based products, nontoxic, naturally safe and completely edible. Parents of babies and toddlers know it is difficult to get your child to stop taste-testing the paints and crayons in the early days of art projects and it was a way for us to feel good about starting art classes with Brooke early. She is now quite the little Picasso and has used all their products from chalk, crayons to all of their colors in their finger paint set. When I saw their advertisement for their newest product, an all natural egg dyeing kit, we had to try it.
The Nature’s Magic Egg Dyeing Kit has six ‘coloring eggs’ for color mixing and one Wee Can Too veggie crayon for egg decorating. The kit is made with real fruits and veggies with natural fruit acid, plant and vegetable extract powder, organic cocoa butter and organic food grade wax. There are two sets of three primary colors and instructions on how to mix three additional colors with the eggs. After our egg coloring, boiling and color mixing, we have the perfect set of eggs that would make any Easter Bunny proud. The natural food products actually give the eggs a sparkly look without fake glitter. Amazing! Well done ladies. We will be back next year for another kit.
About Wee Can Too Art Two moms. One vision: Sarid Ditton, an artist and a mother of a then-6 month old daughter, founded Wee Can Too Art in 2007. The labels on finger paints that claimed non-toxic and safe did not sit well with her and she wanted a paint that was so safe her daughter could actually eat it and she would be okay with it. Two years later enter Nichole Groat, mother and online organic children’s store owner, who was a client of Sarid’s product and wanted to help her market and expand. Wee Can Too Art has taken off and has quite a loyal fan base. Quote from the moms, “Wee Can Too is all the rage with mommy bloggers, autistic children for art therapy, babies, toddlers, and we would love to share them with you!”
