Children learn more when learning is fun!

My daughter loves and knows most of the alphabet with occasional confusion (What? Ms are upside-down Ws? How can that be?! ) and I love finding materials to harness her enthusiasm.  My friends and those who have been keeping up with my blog know that I am a huge supporter of the Montessori early education method and have been implementing this method with my daughter from the start.  I am not about to brag about how amazing she is (which, of course as her mother, she is amazing – ha) and how much she knows because I think every child has the capacity for amazing potential with proper support and guidance.  As an avid reader from a young age, I believe that there are many ways that parents can get their children interested in early literacy.  Reading and learning are a source of excitement in my household and I look for products that spark those connections without feeling like a forced chore and Montessori methods have been such a great resource for me.  A Montessori school played a significant role in the development of the “Power Pack” from the Write Way to Learn and I am impressed with this product’s “I can do it” attitude for kids and the price for the set is great for us parents.

The “Power Pack” has 26-multi-sensory pieces in the learning kit and is designed for children in the age range of 3-7 to help in the beginning of their reading & writing journey.  The set includes a storage tote made from 100% recycled materials, a wipe-off double sided writing board, 4 color dry erase markers, a CD-ROM with 100+ printable activities, 18 double-sided dry erase activity pages broken into steps and complete with lots of beautiful pictures and a guidebook for activities.  The cards have three distinct steps that build off the basic foundations of reading and writing.

Step 1 is designed to help kids learn the alphabet (writing & sounds), numbers 0-9, fine motor skills, and sign language.

Step 2 is reading and writing their first words.

Step 3 is working with phonics with an opportunity for the child to learn up to 30 phonic sounds.

This set fosters independent learning, personalized materials and progressive levels with achievement certificates to booster self confidence of literacy for your child.  While I had incorporated some of these techniques into Brooke’s life before this set, the materials went way beyond our wipe off board and dry erase markers that will benefit her learning for years to come.  I have already seen her excitement of trying to point out the alphabet in the words in the animal card set and pretending to write c-a-t under the cat picture.  We are going to have lots of fun with this set!

About the Founder – Angie Sharp was a Montessori-implementing mom to her young son that took the techniques of learning the alphabet and reading to the next level by developing the Write Way to Learn.  Turned off by how much a complete in-home multisensory early education literacy kit would cost her family, Angie was determined to create her own set.  Her first Learning Cards were made out of construction paper and family photos.  Her son loved the cards and the word spread with other moms at group play dates and Angie quickly realized other parents could use her tools without needing special Montessori training.  Now last month the “Power Pack” was officially made a patent product and distribution of the sets are quickly rising which is quite an exciting journey for this mom.
