Product Review: Table Manners Cards
I have a huge pet peeve when people smack their lips when they eat but I have always felt it too rude to correct in most company. I certainly do not want my child to be the bad manners annoyer including the dreaded lip smacking behavior. When I saw Golly Gee-Pers slogan, ‘Imagine teaching table manners without nagging and prodding’ it delighted my interest, to say the least. After reading creator Staci Ericson’s story on www.gollygee-pers.com website which is full of brutally honest humor when she dealt with her child having bad table manners and how they were able to overcome, I was hooked. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on her Table Manners cards.
The set of Table Manners cards are two meal time games in one. The set has 14 cards that show people depicting both good and bad table manners. A card with a bad table manner has thumbs down drawn in the upper right hand corner with the opposite for a good manner. You can play by catching someone in a good or bad table manner to get a card or pointing out good or bad behavior to earn the most positive cards. The cards are super fun and designed to give motivation to your children through games and friendly competition as both children and adults try to win Ready to Dine Out award cards. I love that each card has a boy on one side of the card and a girl on the other representing the same manner. Perfect for any family!
Some additional information on the set: The set includes 4 blank cards that your family can individualize to your own table manner standards. Cards are laminated and made from 100% recycled material. Cards include a draw-string bag holder that is made from 100% unbleached cotton.
Check out the Freebies section of Staci’s website that includes printable sticker charts and coloring sheets. I plan to print out the girl pout poster and laminate for our wall to give Brooke a place to vent her frustration. There are such great ideas that Staci is kind enough to share.
