Product Review: Little Looster, Potty Stool (Toddler+)

Product Review:  Little Looster, Potty Stool (Toddler+)

I am sure that many parents of toddlers would want to change the quote of, “The only two certainties in life are death and taxes” to include the third of potty training.  The age of 1 to 3 is a time when kids start wanting independence from parents but do not have the proper skill sets in areas such as communication or body control to achieve that goal.  How frustrating for our kids!  My favorite way to teach is through demonstration with proper tools which is why I love Montessori Method practical life skills that favor modified gear for children that help them accomplish useful life skills.  I find myself researching quite a bit for modified gear for my daughter, who happens to be on the shorter side, and I discovered Little Looster while looking for a potty step stool.

I began eyeing the Little Looster product when my daughter became interested in using the big potty but needed a boost.  The Little Looster potty step stool is unique because it covers the entire base of the toilet and promised complete stability and leg support for a toddler.  The designer, Monica Mylet, a working mom with 3 kids (born in a 4 year period, I will add), wanted to make a better stool for her potty training kiddos.  While most conventional step stools have to be kicked out of the way for an adult to use the toilet, Little Looster stays wrapped around the toilet base. Even with this simple concept and design, I have not found any like-products in this price range.  Little Looster has proved to be a success for Brooke to use the big potty in my household and, like so many kids products, is not an inconvenience to us when we try to use the *ahem* facilities.

Are you one of those parents that wish they could come up with that one child product that would make them financially independent?  When you check out the Little Looster website, be sure to look at Monica’s gallery that shows how her idea became reality.  It makes me feel motivated to create something big for a child product; now, I just need an idea!
