Product Review: 12″ Penny and Her Song Doll (Safe for All Ages)
I am so happy to report that Kevin Henkes is coming out with a new children’s book Penny and Her Song and MerryMakers Inc is introducing a new Penny toy to commemorate the occasion. Henkes children’s books deal with feelings and emotions and my personal favorite is Wemberly Worried about a worried little mouse who is afraid about his first day of kindergarten. I have yet to get my hands on his latest book which will be released on February 28, 2012 and the reviews I have read (check out the one from Publishers Weekly) look excellent. The story deals with a child who has younger siblings and feels left out of the spotlight when trying to share her talent for singing. A child with younger siblings may relate to having to be patient as Penny. The story is a gentle reminder to parents of the importance to allow all of their children a time to shine in the spotlight even with a new baby in the home. I anticipate a great read and Brooke is enjoying her adorable Penny doll (her lime green fluffy scarf is so cute and reminds me of the perfect Etsy find!) in the interim.
